Following a request a few days ago we have added a transmission field to car script version 3.1. Options are manual, automatic and semi-automatic.

These fields can be searched upon giving the end user more flexibility when looking for cars for sale online from dealers.

The upgrade takes around 30-60 minutes to complete for existing 3.1 users as the database structure needs to have the extra fields added. Then we modify around 7 files to cater for the addition of the new field.

UK car dealers are now contacting us much more frequently about Car Script v3.1 and we are listening carefully to their requirements and adding new functionality as we go along. We have had several calls over the last few months from car dealers who are currently tied in to an Autotrader website whereby the dealer has their own website hosted by Autotrader, plus all the cars listed on the website appear on the main Autotrader listings.

Just a quick note to mention that we are currently building a Google section to the admin panel. You can register yourself with Google Webmaster Tools and verify your site easily. In the Google section we will have a field that you can enter in your validation code (meta tag) from Google.

This section will also tell you the location of your Google XML sitemap. This sitemap will be updated every time you add or remove a page or a car from your inventory.
